Lykketegning was created because of a small drawing made at a workshop in Oslo by the illustrator IRS. After posting the drawing on Instragram, she was contacted by several people, and even received a few orders, which led her to create a Facebook group called Lykketegning. After a massive response to her illustrations, she took a leave of absence from her position as a counsellor for Sarpsborg Municipality to continue making illustrations full-time. She was invited to take part in the TV programme God Morgen Norge at Christmas 2015. Since then, she has made a living by spreading happiness throughout the country with her illustrations. She's also become a Facebook phenomenon, and her illustrations have been shared with millions of people in the country and beyond. The Sarpsborg native has now been drawing full-time for a couple of years, and her Lykke cups are sold in over 250 stores across the country.
Every illustration is made with a kind heart and care here at Lykketegning. Using vibrant colours, clean lines and great quotes, it's Lykketegning's desire to make you stop for a moment, take a deep breath and then choose a new path. The hearts and smiles are from me to you to remind you that you are amazing!
By using simple, clean lines, she brings out a warmth and depth in her illustrations, and she does it well. The feedback she gets tells her that her illustrations really resonate with customers. The illustrations have meaning and help people through difficult times. Even though the line is simple and the colours are bright, she reaches out to the adult audience, which is who she is addressing. I'm very fond of all my illustrations. They have a meaning for me and reflect on what's important in my life. My inspiration comes from the people I meet, nature and everyday life. It's important to me that other people know their value and that they are unique in their own way. Many people want these reminders in their home and appreciate that I can also illustrate their thoughts and wishes. I've always been a visual person and used to love photography. Now I try to get the subjects in my head down on paper by drawing. I love doing this and look forward to every new day at work! ¨
